China Guizhou Company Scam: Job Applicants Sprayed with Fire Extinguisher
On January 17 in Guiyang, Guizhou, a company demanded job applicants pay a 300 RMB fee for a medical examination prior to employment. Many applicants, realizing they had been scammed, went to the company to reclaim this fee. During negotiations, staff shockingly used a fire extinguisher to spray and drive away the applicants. On January 18, police stated the issue was resolved and the money had been returned to the applicants. The incident of using a fire extinguisher against people is under further investigation.
